Teams still need power management, a way to handle Starlink interruptions, and a network that staff and the public can actually use. Where Starlink alone falls short for response teams

Obstruction takes the connection down completely

Tree cover, terrain, or a hasty setup under a structure can interrupt Starlink's view of the sky. NetCrate adds three-carrier cellular failover so an obstruction doesn't mean the team goes offline.

A dish and router isn't a deployable network

Raw Starlink hardware gives you one network. NetCrate adds a private network for response staff and a separate public network, with battery backup and a rugged enclosure around the whole system.

Field setup shouldn't require a technician

NetCrate's Starlink pairing and bypass-mode configuration are completed before deployment. Field teams power on and position the dish — they don't troubleshoot account settings on site.

Power interruptions shouldn't mean lost connectivity

Generator swaps, battery changes, and transport between sites are normal in field response. NetCrate's internal battery carries the connection through those transitions.

Sky visibility: Starlink performs best with a clear, unobstructed view — open ground beats tree cover or covered staging areas.
Gen 2 vs Gen 3 dishes: Setup steps differ slightly by Starlink hardware generation; both are supported. See the user manual for specifics.
Cellular as backup, not afterthought: Even with Starlink in the configuration, three-carrier cellular failover stays active so a temporary obstruction doesn't drop the connection.
Repositioning: If the team relocates, the dish can be repositioned and reconnects without reconfiguring the rest of the unit.

Important limitation: NetCrate supports emergency internet and Wi-Fi. It does not replace land mobile radio, public safety radio, satellite phones, or emergency voice communications.
